OT in the Home can provide the following services

Activities of Daily Living Assessments

Activities of Daily Living (ADL) Assessments review your ability to complete routine daily tasks after an injury or medical condition. OT intervention is aimed at providing advice on equipment and strategies to promote independence and reduce the risk of further injury.

Equipment Advice and Prescription (SWEP Registration)

If an injury or medical condition is limiting your ability to maintain your independence and safety when completing routine daily tasks, an OT can help. We can recommend equipment for short or long term use, trial and train you in the safe use of that equipment and ensure your independence.

Home Visits and Falls Prevention

If age or a medical condition or injury is placing you at greater risk of falls, we can help make you safe. A falls prevention program can improve your balance, and strength when mobilising, eliminate falls risks in your home environment and give you confidence to retain your independence.

In-Home Rehabilitation

OT in the Home is able to provide in home rehabilitation services aimed at improving and promoting independence within the home and the community.

Minor & Major Home Modifications

Home modifications are designed to encourage independent and safe use of your home environment when completing routine daily tasks. With extensive experience and knowledge in home modifications for the aged and OT in the Home can make appropriate recommendations for minor and major home modifications.

Seating, Mobility & Pressure Care

By understanding your unique circumstances and needs, OT in the Home can assess your need for mobility aids such as wheelchairs, motorised wheelchairs and scooters to help you access your environment and community. OT in the Home can also make recommendations for pressure relief aids such as specialised cushions for seats and beds to reduce the risk of pressure wounds.
