Are you a DVA Card Holder?
If you hold a DVA gold or white card you may be entitled to a range of health care services at DVA’s expense. These health care services include:
- Medical
- Dental
- Optical
- Home maintenance
- Occupational Therapy Assessment & Services
You may also be entitled to aids and appliances as prescribed by an Occupational Therapist to help you remain independent in your home.
Further information regarding your DVA eligibility can be found here through the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA).
Are aspects of your daily life becoming challenging?
An Occupational Therapist can help you to do more of what you want to do, safely and independently. Occupational Therapists work with you and your environment to maximise your ability to do the things that are important to you.
Armed with a range of strategies and with access to a vast array of aids and equipment, Occupational Therapists work to enhance your ability to engage in the activities of everyday life – either through adapting the environment, modifying the task, teaching a skill, or educating you in ways to do things safer.
How much does an OT in the Home service cost?
For eligible DVA gold or white car holders, your occupational therapist will bill the DVA directly for any treatment provided. No co-payment or out of pocket expenses will be passed on to you by OT in the Home.
Can I access OT services if I live in an aged care facility?
Eligible gold and white cardholders living in Hostel, or serviced apartments, have access to the same OT services as those living in a private residence. If you require Occupational Therapy services, please call us to discuss your individual circumstances.
Eligible gold and white card holders may be entitled to access the following free DVA Occupational Therapy programs
